From the discovery of G-Land to the most intimate portrait of Kelly Slater to date, SurfHistory.com is the portal that provides the visitor a wide range of historical information and resources for both the casual observers and the most serious aficionado. For the first time, Opper Sports' vast film and video footage database is available on-line.
In conjunction with the launch of SurfHistory.com, Opper Sports premieres the fourth season of The Surfers Journal TV series on Outdoor Life Network and the home video release of The Surfer’s Journal Biography Video Volumes 4 & 5.

The site offers the secret "combination" into a database of over 2000 videos and film masters. The Surfer’s Journal TV series 4th Season Premieres on Outdoor Life Network This fall on the Outdoor Life Network, The Surfer’s Journal premieres twelve new episodes of the acclaimed "Biographies" series, produced and directed by four time EMMY Award recipient Ira Opper and widely considered the industry standard for high quality production values and content. This season's series include comprehensive biographies of Gerry Lopez, BK, Terry Fitzgerald, Cheyne Horan, Wayne Lynch, Rabbit Kekai, Jeff Hakman, Larry Bertlemann, Tom Carroll, Wingnut, Robert August, and Lisa Andersen. Release of Surfer Journal Biography Video Volume #4 & #5
On September 6, 2001, Opper Sports Productions is releasing their 23rd and 24th historical home videos. To complement the launch of the web site, The Surfer’s Journal Biography Volume #4 featuring Hawaiians’ Gerry Lopez and BK, and Volume #5 with Australians’ Terry Fitzgerald and Cheyne Horan, will be available on the site. SurfHistory.com offers all Opper Sports documentary videos for sale. This collection of historical information includes The Surfers Journal's "50 Years of Surfing on Film," "Great Waves" and the "Biography" video series. The site will also feature other Opper Sports titles such as "Super Slide," "Wingnut’s Search For Soul," "Atlantic Moon," and "Blue Shock"’ to name a few.
